I will admit that I don't have much to write for this particular post, but I really wanted to share the photos of a swanky hotel here in Ollantaytambo called Hotel Pakaritampu. With the power out nearly all day today, we weren't able to get much work done. Instead, Peaps invited me along as her host Dad (we use the term "Dad" lightly because he's actually about our age) took her on a tour of the hotel he works at by the train station.
Hotel Pakaritampu is the nicest hotel in the area. Complete with about 45 beautiful rooms, nearly all of them with magnificent views of both sets of ruins. They have the most beautiful garden of flowers I've seen in the area and tucked behind the property is a great outdoor area with a big outdoor oven. They have a beautiful restaurant, a full bar upstairs and lots of seating areas. The prices of this hotel are definitely the steepest in the area but compared to high end hotels in Boston or NYC, they are still about a third of the price! Anyone with the means would be very happy here. In fact, I wished that I had indulged in a night here during my stay. I feel like I'm writing a hotel review!
p.s. I am now 3 and a half weeks into my trip and today was the first day of rain and bad weather AND I'm still feeling fantastic. I'm definitely thanking the powers that be. Que buena suerte (as I knock on the wooden desk this computer is on).
