Machu Picchu

Amazing. That's all I can say about Machu Picchu. I'm amazed by the Incas and I'm amazed that this prego had the energy to climb, explore and hike all over Machu Picchu for an entire day, which started at 4am, I might add. I didn't quite have the same energy level as "Mountain Mare" (as we called her. She climbed and hiked every inch of Machu Picchu) and "Tour Guide Phil" ( who had done his research and kept us informed as to what we were seeing) but I was pretty proud of myself for hanging in there. I didn't see any other pregnant women around. Mare and I made fun of Phil by pointing out what we thought must have been the Inca grocery store and Inca bus stop but to Phil's credit, he knew his stuff, and since we were too cheap to pay for a guide for the day, we were lucky that at least one of us had read up on Machu Picchu. It was beautiful but again, these pictures only capture a fragment of how cool it was. We were there for hours. Mostly, I just wanted to hang out with the llamas the whole time.
